The Furnace is much excited to present The Happening; a project commissioned specially for our February show which breaks new ground in the fusion of music and art.
The Happening sees painter Jonathan Bentall (www.jonathanbentall.com) take to the stage with the Lee Mitchell band, to create a spontaneous piece of vision and music. Jonathan will paint onto canvas, creating his reactions to the music being played and the vibe of the room, whilst the musicians shape their music to the art and body movement evolving before them.
The Happening will be captured on film and developed as a future piece
