Each event sees a diverse line up of performers coming alongside each other to create a potent artistic blaze. Each act is given a slot in The Furnace, no longer than 25 minutes, which is theirs to use in whatever way they desire.

We demand only that the slots be passionate and innovative, and that the artists ensure our audience leaves The Furnace as different people to those who walked through its doors.

We encourage the acts to question the boundaries of their art, to pursue progression, to break the expectations of stage and to collaborate with other artists and acts on the line-up. Each month we shake-up the bill, using both our in-house artists and others from outside. This ensures that no two events are the same.

Michaela – The Birth of a Poet

Almost reluctantly accepting the title of a 'Female Spoken Wordsmith', Michaela (The Birth Of A Poet) is breaking iron barriers with every word of inspiration breathed.
